Announcement:

The 2014 Prize "Recherche au Présent" has been awarded unanimously by the Jury to:

Nicolas Lhermitte, Princeton University,

for his paper entitled:

"1750 francs : le prix de Swann"

The 2014 "Recherche au Présent" award includes a stipend of $800, and an invitation to publish the revised communication in the form of an article in a special issue of Contemporary French and Francophone Studies.

Please congratulate Nicolas Lhermitte as the 2014 Laureate of the Prize, as well as the two second best candidates ex aequo for their excellent communications:

Le prix inclut la somme de 800 dollars ainsi qu'une offre de publication de la communication révisée sous forme d'article dans un numéro spécial de Contemporary French and Francophone Studies.

Prix “Recherche au présent”
20^th and 21^st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium

À l’occasion des trente ans du 20^th and 21^st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium, Anne Mairesse (University of San Francisco) et Anne Simon (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) ont créé le Prix "Recherche au présent” pour récompenser chaque année le travail novateur d’un^.e doctorant^.e en prise sur les débats et les enjeux qui fondent notre contemporanéité et ayant un lien avec le thème annuel fixé par lesorganisateurs/organisatrices du Congrès.

Le Prix sera décerné au cours du colloque, et la communication retenue sera publiée sous forme d’article développé dans la revue Contemporary French and Francophone Studies : SITES. Le lauréat recevra également un montant de huit cents dollars.

Le Prix “Recherche au présent” espère ainsi apporter son soutien aux doctorant^.es participant au Congrès et promouvoir le développement des études de langue française à l’international. Il est subventionné par Georgetown University, le Centre de Recherches sur les Arts et le Langage (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales / Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), la Société d’Étude de la Littérature Française du XX^e siècle et University of San Francisco.

Prix “Recherche au présent”
20th and 21st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the 20^th and 21^st-Century French and Francophone Studies International Colloquium, Anne Mairesse (University of San Francisco) and Anne Simon (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) inaugurated an annual prize, the “Recherche au présent” award. The goal of this award is to recognize innovative research by a doctoral student whose advanced research engages important contemporary debates in the field and whose submission is linked to the given annual theme of the colloquium.

The prize-winning paper will be recognized during the Colloquium and will be published as a fully developed article in Contemporary French and Francophone Studies: SITES. The winner will also receive a monetary award of 800 dollars.

The “Recherche au présent” award seeks to encourage and support doctoral students attending the Conference, as well as to advance and promote French and Francophone studies in the context of international academia. This prize is sponsored by Georgetown University, the Centre de recherches sur les arts et le langage (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales / Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), the Société d’Étude de la Littérature Française du XX^e siècle and University of San Francisco.

To be eligible for the Prize "Recherche au Présent," graduate students must submit their application files, and a

full-length paper of their presentation (approx. 3000 words) no later than Monday January 20 at

5:00pm EST, to the Presidents of the Jury: mairesse@usfca.edu and simon.a@orange.fr
